Removal and Installation

CAUTION:
  • Do not impact the TCM when removing or installing TCM.
  • When replacing TCM, perform " ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REPLACING TCM". Refer to Description .
  • When replacing TCM and transaxle assembly simultaneously, replace transaxle assembly first and then replace TCM. Refer to Description .
  • When replacing TCM, note the "CVTF DETERIORATION DATE" value displayed on CONSULT "CONFORM CVTF DETERIORATION" in MAINTENANCE BOOKLET, before starting the operation.

REMOVAL 

  1. Remove battery tray. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  2. Disconnect the harness connectors from the ECM, TCM, electric intake valve timing control module, and variable compression ratio control module. Refer to Harness Connector .
  3. Remove module bracket bolts and module.
  4. Remove TCM bracket bolts and remove TCM bracket from module bracket.
  5. Remove TCM nuts.
  6. Remove TCM.

INSTALLATION 

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
