Removal and Installation

REMOVAL

CAUTION:

When replacing the steering gear, which includes the EPS control unit, perform the "ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REPLACING EPS CONTROL UNIT". Refer to Work Procedure .

Remove front suspension member. Refer to Removal and Installation .
Remove bolts and heat shield from steering gear.
Remove nuts, washers, bolts and steering gear from front suspension member.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse steering gear nuts.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

Torque steering gear (1) bolts to specification in the sequence shown in the illustration.

Bolts : 98 N.m (9.9 kg-m, 72 in-lb)

CAUTION:

Do not reuse steering gear nuts.
