Removal and Installation: Removal

CAUTION: When removing, always use a remover tool that is made of plastic.
  1. Remove center console front finisher. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove A/C control. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove center console assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  4. Disengage fixing metal clips, and then remove instrument finisher E.

  5. Remove cluster lid C.
    1. Remove cluster lid C fixing screws SYMBOL .

    2. Disengage fixing pawls and metal clips, and then remove cluster lid C.

    3. Disconnect harness connectors.
  6. Remove AV control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  7. Remove driver air bag module. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  8. Remove steering wheel. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  9. Remove steering column control module.
    1. Apply protective tape (A) on the part to protect it from damage.

    2. Disengage fixing pawls using a remover tool (A), and then remove cluster lid A apron portion by arrow as shown in the figure.

    3. Remove steering column control module. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  10. Remove cluster lid A.
    1. Cover steering shaft with a shop cloth to prevent damage.
    2. Disengage fixing pawls, and then remove cluster lid A.

  11. Remove combination meter. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  12. Remove instrument mask LH.
    1. Apply protective tape (A) on the part to protect it from damage.

    2. Disengage fixing pawls and metal clip using a remover tool (A) according to the numerical order 1->2 as shown in the figure.

  13. Remove instrument lower cover LH.
    1. Remove instrument lower cover LH mounting bolts SYMBOL , and then remove instrument lower cover LH.

    2. Remove hood lock control handle assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation .
    3. Disconnect harness connectors.
  14. Remove driver knee air bag module. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  15. Remove instrument mask RH
    1. Apply protective tape (A) on the part to protect it from damage.

    2. Disengage fixing pawls and metal clip using a remover tool (A) according to the numerical order 1->2 as shown in the figure.

  16. Remove instrument pad C.
    1. Remove instrument pad C fixing screws SYMBOL .

    2. Remove side ventilator grille RH. Refer to Removal and Installation .
    3. Disengage fixing metal clips according to the numerical order 1->3 as shown in the figure.

  17. Disengage fixing pawls and metal clips, and then remove cluster lid D.

  18. Remove display control unit. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  19. Disengage fixing metal clips, and then remove instrument pad A according to the numerical order 1->3 as shown in the figure.

  20. Remove center squawker grille.
    1. Apply protective tape (A) on the part to protect it from damage.

    2. Disengage fixing pawls and metal clips using a remover tool (A), and then remove center squawker grille.

    3. Disconnect harness connectors.
  21. Remove center squawker. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  22. Remove fixing clips and pawl, and then remove instrument lower cover RH

  23. Remove glove box assembly.
    1. Remove glove box cover fixing screws SYMBOL .

    2. Disengage fixing pawls, and then remove glove box assembly.

    3. Disconnect harness connectors.
    24. NOTE: Remove passenger knee air bag module after removing glove box assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  25. Remove passenger air bag fixing screw SYMBOL .

  26. Disconnect passenger air bag harness connectors SYMBOL .
    CAUTION:
    • For installing/removing the passenger air bag module harness connector, insert a thin remover tool wrapped in tape into notch, lift lock and remove the connector.

    • Install the connector with lock raised, and push lock into the connector.
    • After installing the connector, check that the lock is pushed securely into it.
  27. Remove front pillar garnish (LH and RH). Refer to Removal and Installation .
  28. Remove instrument panel assembly.
    1. Remove instrument panel assembly fixing screws SYMBOL .

    2. Disconnect harness connectors.
    3. Remove instrument panel assembly from passenger door opening portion.
      CAUTION:
      • Cover shift selector upper surface with a shop cloth to prevent it from being damaged.
      • When removing instrument panel assembly, 2 workers are required to prevent it from dropping.
  29. Remove the following parts after removing instrument panel assembly.
