Diagnosis Procedure
- CHECK HARNESS CONNECTOR CONNECTION
Check the following harness connector for disconnection or looseness.
- CAN potential distributor electrical connector (chassis 1)
- Steering column control module
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 2.
NO
Securely connect the harness connectors.
- CHECK POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT
Check power supply and ground circuit for steering column control module. Refer to Wiring Diagram .
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO 3.
NO
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part.
- CHECK CIRCUIT (SHORT TO BATTERY)
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the following unit connectors.
- CAN potential distributor electrical connector (chassis 1)
- Steering column control module
- Check voltage between CAN potential distributor electrical connector (chassis 1) harness connector and ground.

YES
GO TO 4.
NO
Repair or replace harness.
- CHECK CIRCUIT (SHORT TO GROUND)
Check continuity between CAN potential distributor electrical connector (chassis 1) harness connector and ground.

Repair or replace harness.
- CHECK CIRCUIT (SHORT WITH CAN-H AND CAN-L)
Check continuity between CAN potential distributor electrical connector (chassis 1) harness connector terminals.
