Diagnosis Procedure

CHECK AWD CONTROL UNIT POWER SUPPLY (1)

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect AWD Control Unit harness connector.

Check the voltage between AWD Control Unit harness connector and ground.

Turn the ignition switch ON.
CAUTION: Never start the engine.

Check the voltage between AWD Control Unit harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 3.

GO TO 2.

CHECK AWD CONTROL UNIT POWER SUPPLY (2)

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Check the 10 A fuse (No. 46).
Disconnect IPDM E/R harness connector.

Check the continuity between AWD Control Unit harness connector and IPDM E/R harness connector.

Check the continuity between AWD Control Unit harness connector and the ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Perform the trouble diagnosis for ignition power supply circuit. Refer to Wiring Diagram - IGNITION POWER SUPPLY .

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

CHECK AWD CONTROL UNIT POWER SUPPLY (3)

Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Check the voltage between AWD Control Unit harness connector and ground.

Turn the ignition switch ON.
CAUTION: Never start the engine.

Check the voltage between AWD Control Unit harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 5.

GO TO 4.

CHECK AWD CONTROL UNIT POWER SUPPLY (4)

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Check the 10 A fuse (No. 9).
Disconnect fuse block (J/B) harness connector.

Check the continuity between AWD Control Unit harness connector and fuse block (J/B).

Check the continuity between AWD Control Unit harness connector and the ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Perform the trouble diagnosis for power supply circuit. Refer to Wiring Diagram - BATTERY POWER SUPPLY .

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

CHECK AWD SOLENOID POWER SUPPLY (1)

Turn the ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect AWD solenoid harness connector.

Check the voltage between AWD Control Unit harness connector and ground.

Turn the ignition switch ON.
CAUTION: Never start the engine.

Check the voltage between AWD Control Unit harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO 7.

GO TO 6.

CHECK AWD SOLENOID POWER SUPPLY (2)
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Check the 10 A fuse (No. 33).
3. Check the harness for open or short between AWD Control Unit harness connector No. 9 terminal and fuse box.
Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Perform the trouble diagnosis for power supply circuit. Refer to Wiring Diagram - BATTERY POWER SUPPLY .

NO

Repair or replace error-detected parts.

CHECK AWD CONTROL UNIT GROUND

Turn the ignition switch OFF.

Check the continuity between AWD Control Unit harness connector and ground.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

INSPECTION END

Repair or replace error-detected parts.
