Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK FUSE

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Check that the following fuse is not blown (open).
      Unit Location Fuse No. Capacity
      Rotary light switch Fuse and fusible link block 2 89 5A

    Is the fuse blown (open)?

    YES 

    Replace the blown (open) fuse after repairing the affected circuit if a fuse is blown (open).

    NO 

    GO TO STEP 2. 

  2. CHECK ROTARY LIGHT SWITCH POWER SUPPLY

    Check voltage between rotary light switch harness connector and ground.

    (+) (-) Voltage
    (Approx.)
    Rotary light switch
    Connector Terminal
    M219 4 Ground Battery voltage

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 3  .

    NO 

    Repair or replace harness.

  3. CHECK ROTARY LIGHT SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT

    1. Disconnect BCM and rotary light switch connector.
    2. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and rotary light switch harness connector.
      BCM Rotary light switch Continuity
      Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
      M25 7 M219 2 Existed
    3. Check continuity between rotary light switch harness connector and ground.
      Rotary light switch Ground Continuity
      Connector Terminal
      M219 2 Not existed

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 4. 

    NO 

    Repair or replace harness.

  4. CHECK ROTARY LIGHT SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT

    1. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and rotary light switch harness connector.
      BCM Rotary light switch Continuity

    2. Check continuity between rotary light switch harness connector and ground.
      Rotary light switch Ground Continuity
      Connector Terminal
      M219 8 Not existed

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 5. 

    NO 

    Repair or replace harness.

  5. CHECK ROTARY LIGHT SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT

    Check voltage between rotary light switch harness connector and ground.

    (Approx.)
    Rotary light switch
    Connector Terminal
    M219 8 Ground 0 V
    7

    3

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 6. 

    NO 

    Repair or replace harness.

  6. ERASE DTC

    1. Connect BCM and rotary light switch connector.
    2. Turn ignition switch ON.
    3. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "BCM" using CONSULT.
    4. Erase DTC, and then repeat "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE". Refer to DTC DESCRIPTION .

    Is DTC detected?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 7  .

    NO 

    INSPECTION END

  7. REPLACE ROTARY LIGHT SWITCH AND ERASE DTC

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Replace rotary light switch. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
    3. Turn ignition switch ON.
    4. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "BCM" using CONSULT.
    5. Erase DTC, and then repeat "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE". Refer to DTC DESCRIPTION .

    Is DTC detected?

    YES 

    Replace BCM. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NO 

    INSPECTION END
