Diagnostic Test

- CHECK CONNECTION CONDITION
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Check the connection condition of the traction motor inverter harness connector.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO STEP 2.
NO
Repair or replace damaged parts.
- CHECK POWER CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the traction motor inverter harness connector.
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Check the voltage between traction motor inverter vehicle side harness connector terminal and ground.
Traction motor inverter Ground Condition Voltage
(Approx.)Connector Terminal E2 31 Ground Turn ignition switch ON 10 - 16 V Turn ignition switch OFF 0 V
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
Replace the traction motor inverter. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
NO
GO TO STEP 3.
- CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN TRACTION MOTOR INVERTER AND IPDM E/R
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the IPDM E/R connector.
- Check the resistance between traction motor inverter vehicle side harness connector terminal and IPDM E/R vehicle side harness connector terminal.
Traction motor inverter IPDM E/R Resistance Connector Terminal Connector Terminal E2 31 E124 63 1 Ω or less - Check the resistance between traction motor inverter vehicle side harness connector terminal and ground.
Traction motor inverter Ground Resistance Connector Terminal E2 31 Ground 100 kΩ or more
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO STEP 4.
NO
Repair or replace damaged parts.
- DETECTION OF MALFUNCTION ITEMS
Check the following items:
- Harness open circuit or short circuit between IPDM E/R and ignition switch
- 10A fuse (#51, IPDM E/R)
- Ignition switch
- IPDM E/R (INTELLIGENT POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE ENGINE ROOM)
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
INSPECTION END
NO
Repair or replace damaged parts.
