Diagnostic Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Infiniti Q50. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. CHECK CONNECTOR

    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect CONSULT from data link connector.
    2. Get out of the vehicle, close all doors (including trunk lid), check that the map lamp is OFF, and wait for 3 minutes or more without opening these doors.
      NOTE:

      Never operate the vehicle.

    3. Disconnect 12V battery cable from negative terminal. Refer to PRECAUTION FOR REMOVING 12V BATTERY .
    4. Disconnect ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) harness connector.
    5. Disconnect electrically-driven intelligent brake unit harness.
    6. Check the connector for disconnection or looseness.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 2  .

    NO 

    Repair / replace harness or connector, and GO TO STEP 2  .

  2. CHECK BRAKE COMMUNICATION LINE

    1. Check the continuity between ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) harness connector and electrically-driven intelligent brake unit harness connector.

    2. Check the continuity between ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) harness connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 3  .

    NO 

    Repair or replace the harnesses and connectors. Refer to PRECAUTIONS FOR HARNESS REPAIR . GO TO STEP 3  .

  3. PERFORM ABS ACTUATOR AND ELECTRIC UNIT (CONTROL UNIT) SELF-DIAGNOSIS (1)

    G-20 With CONSULT

    1. Connect ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) harness connector.
    2. Connect electrically-driven intelligent brake unit harness.
    3. Connect 12V battery cable to negative terminal.
    4. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
      NOTE:

      Wait at least 10 seconds after turning ignition switch OFF.

    5. Set the vehicle to READY/Start the engine.
      NOTE:

      Wait at least 10 seconds after set the vehicle to READY/start the engine.

    6. Repeat step 4 to 5 two or more times.
    7. Perform self-diagnosis for "ABS".

    Is DTC "C118A", "U1000" or "U110D" detected?

    YES ("C118A") 

    Refer to DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE .

    YES ("U1000") 

    Refer to TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS FLOW CHART .

    YES ("U110D") 

    GO TO STEP 4  .

    NO 

    INSPECTION END

  4. PERFORM ELECTRICALLY-DRIVEN INTELLIGENT BRAKE UNIT SELF-DIAGNOSIS

    G-20 With CONSULT

    Perform self-diagnosis for "BRAKE". Refer to CONSULT FUNCTION .

    Is DTC detected?

    YES 

    Check the DTC. Refer to DTC INDEX .

    NO 

    GO TO STEP 5  .

  5. PERFORM ABS ACTUATOR AND ELECTRIC UNIT (CONTROL UNIT) SELF-DIAGNOSIS (2)

    G-20 With CONSULT

    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
      NOTE:

      Wait at least 10 seconds after turning ignition switch OFF.

    2. Set the vehicle to READY/Start the engine.
      NOTE:

      Wait at least 10 seconds after set the vehicle to READY/start the engine.

    3. Repeat step 1 to 2 two or more times.
    4. Perform self-diagnosis for "ABS".

    Is DTC "U110D" detected?

    YES 

    Replace the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NO 

    INSPECTION END
