Diagnosis Procedure
- CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR 1 POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT - 1
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor harness connector.
- Check the voltage between APP sensor harness connector terminals.
APP sensor Voltage
(Approx.)Connector + - Terminal M124 4 5 5 V
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO STEP 4 .
NO
GO TO STEP 2 .
- CHECK ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR 1 POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT - 2
Check the voltage between APP sensor harness connector and ground.

(Approx.)APP sensor Connector Terminal M124 4 Ground 5 V Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO STEP 5 .
NO
GO TO STEP 3 .
- CHECK SENSOR POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
Check harness for short to power and short to ground, between the following terminals.
HPCM Sensor Connector Terminal Name Connector Terminal B14 10 APP sensor M124 4 31 10 11 A/T assembly
(Clutch 1 stroke sensor)F66 10 Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO STEP 4 .
NO
Repair or replace error-detected parts.
- CHECK COMPONENTS
Check the following.
- Accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor (Refer to COMPONENT INSPECTION (ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR) .)
- Clutch 1 stroke sensor (Proceed to DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE .)
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
Perform INTERMITTENT INCIDENT .
NO
Repair or replace error-detected parts.
- CHECK HPCM GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect HPCM harness connector.
- Check the continuity between APP sensor harness connector and HPCM harness connector.
+ - Continuity APP sensor HPCM Connector Terminal Connector Terminal M124 5 B14 21 Existed
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO STEP 6 .
NO
Repair or replace error-detected parts.
- CHECK HPCM GROUND CIRCUIT
Check the continuity between HPCM harness connector and ground.
+ - Continuity HPCM Connector Terminal B14 20 Ground Existed 39 40 B16 65 Is the inspection result normal?
YES
Perform INTERMITTENT INCIDENT .
NO
Repair or replace ground connection.
