Diagnostic Test

CHECK SUB ELECTRIC OIL PUMP RELAY
1. Turn ignition switch OFF and wait for 10 minutes or more.
2. Check sub electric oil pump relay. Refer to COMPONENT INSPECTION (SUB ELECTRIC OIL PUMP RELAY) .
Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO STEP 2.

NO

Replace sub electric oil pump relay.

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN SUB ELECTRIC OIL PUMP INVERTER AND SUB ELECTRIC OIL PUMP RELAY (PART 1)

Disconnect sub electric oil pump inverter.

Check continuity between sub electric oil pump inverter harness connector terminals and sub electric oil pump relay harness connector terminals.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO STEP 3.

Repair or replace damaged parts.

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN SUB ELECTRIC OIL PUMP INVERTER AND SUB ELECTRIC OIL PUMP RELAY (PART 2)

Check continuity between sub electric oil pump inverter harness connector terminals and ground.

Sub electric oil pump inverter		-	Continuity
Connector	Terminal	-	Continuity
T1	3	Ground	Not existed
T2	6	Ground	Not existed

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO STEP 4.

Repair or replace damaged parts.

CHECK SUB ELECTRIC OIL PUMP RELAY POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

Turn ignition switch ON.
Check voltage between sub electric oil pump relay harness connector terminals and ground.

Sub electric oil pump relay

T34	1	Ground	Turn ignition switch ON	9 - 16 V

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO STEP 5.

GO TO STEP 6.

CHECK SUB ELECTRIC OIL PUMP INVERTER BATTERY POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

Check voltage between sub electric oil pump relay harness connector terminals and ground.

T34	3	Ground	Always	9 - 16 V

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Check intermittent incident. Refer to INTERMITTENT INCIDENT .
If inspection result is OK, replace sub electric oil pump inverter. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

GO TO STEP 8.

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN IPDM E/R AND SUB ELECTRIC OIL PUMP RELAY

Turn ignition switch OFF.
Disconnect IPDM E/R connector.

Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector terminal and sub electric oil pump relay harness connector terminal.

Also check short circuit in harness.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO STEP 7.

Repair or replace damaged parts.

DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM (PART 1)

Check the following items:
- Open circuit or short circuit in harness between ignition switch and IPDM E/R. Refer to WIRING DIAGRAM - IGNITION POWER SUPPLY - .
- 10A fuse (No. 53, IPDM E/R). Refer to FUSE, CONNECTOR AND TERMINAL ARRANGEMENT .
- IPDM E/R
Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Check intermittent incident. Refer to INTERMITTENT INCIDENT .

NO

Repair or replace damaged parts.

CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN BATTERY TERMINAL WITH FUSIBLE LINK AND SUB ELECTRIC OIL PUMP RELAY

Turn ignition switch OFF and wait for 10 minutes or more.
Disconnect the negative terminal from 12V battery.
Disconnect battery terminal with fusible link connector.

Check continuity between battery terminal with fusible link harness connector terminal and sub electric oil pump relay harness connector terminal.

Battery terminal with fusible link		Sub electric oil pump relay		Continuity

Also check short circuit in harness.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO STEP 9.

Repair or replace damaged parts.

DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM (PART 2)

Check the following items:
- Open circuit or short circuit in harness between 12V battery and battery terminal with fusible link. Refer to WIRING DIAGRAM - BATTERY POWER SUPPLY - .
- 12V battery
- 50A fuse (No.F, Battery terminal with fusible link). Refer to FUSE AND FUSIBLE LINK ARRANGEMENT .
- Battery terminal with fusible link
Is the inspection result normal?

YES

Check intermittent incident. Refer to INTERMITTENT INCIDENT .

NO

Repair or replace damaged parts.
