Hood Lock: Inspection

NOTE:
If the hood lock control cable is bent or deformed, replace it.
- Check that secondary latch
is securely engaged with hood lock support stay
from the dead load of the hood assembly.
: Vehicle front - Check that primary latch
is securely engaged with hood lock striker
when hood assembly is closed (when close it in 1.5 m/sec at the latest).
- While operating the hood opener carefully, check that the front end of the hood is lifted by approximately 20 mm (0.787 in) (A). Also, check that the hood opener returns to the original position.
- Check that secondary latch
is properly engaged with hood lock support stay
[6.8 mm (0.268 in) MIN] (A).
: Vehicle front - Check that the tension of hood opener lever is less than 49.0 N (5.0 kg, 11.02 lb).
- Check hood lock and hood lock control secondary assembly lubrication condition. If necessary, apply body grease.
