Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK VOICE GUIDANCE SIGNAL INPUT

    1. Turn ignition switch ON.
    2. Check the signal between display control unit terminals as per the following condition.
      Display control unit Condition Continuity
      Connector Terminals
      (+) (-)
      Terminal

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 2  .

    NO 

    GO TO STEP 3  .

  2. CHECK VOICE GUIDANCE SIGNAL OUTPUT

    Check the signal between AV control unit terminals as per the following condition.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    Replace AV control unit. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NO 

    GO TO STEP 5  .

  3. CHECK VOICE GUIDANCE SIGNAL INPUT CIRCUIT FOR OPEN

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect display control unit harness connector and NAVI control unit harness connector.
    3. Check the continuity between display control unit harness connector and NAVI control unit harness connector.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 4  .

    NO 

    Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.

  4. CHECK VOICE GUIDANCE INPUT SIGNAL FOR SHORT

    Check the continuity between display control unit harness connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    Replace NAVI control unit. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NO 

    Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.

  5. CHECK VOICE GUIDANCE OUTPUT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR OPEN

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect AV control unit harness connector and display control unit harness connector.
    3. Check the continuity between AV control unit harness connector and display control unit harness connector.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 6  .

    NO 

    Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.

  6. CHECK VOICE GUIDANCE OUTPUT SIGNAL FOR SHORT

    Check the continuity between AV control unit harness connector and ground.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    Replace display control unit. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NO 

    Repair or replace malfunctioning parts.
