Diagnosis Procedure

  1. CHECK BCM SIGNAL 1

    1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect remote keyless entry receiver connector.
    3. Check voltage between remote keyless entry receiver harness connector and ground.
      (+) (-) Voltage (V)
      (Approx.)
      Remote keyless entry receiver
      Connector Terminal
      B20 1 Ground 5

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 3  .

    NO 

    GO TO STEP 2  .

  2. CHECK REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY RECEIVER POWER SUPPLYCIRCUIT

    1. Disconnect BCM connector.
    2. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and remote keyless entry receiver harness connector.
      BCM Remote keyless entry receiver Continuity
      Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
      M71 110 B20 1 Existed
    3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.
      BCM Ground Continuity
      Connector Terminal
      M71 110 Not existed

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    Replace BCM. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NO 

    Repair or replace harness.

  3. CHECK REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY RECEIVER POWER SUPPLY

    1. Reconnect remote keyless entry receiver connector.
    2. Check signal between remote keyless entry receiver harness connector and ground using oscilloscope.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 4  .

    NO 

    Replace remote keyless entry receiver.

  4. CHECK REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY RECEIVER GROUND CIRCUIT

    1. Disconnect BCM connector and remote keyless entry receiver connector.
    2. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and remote keyless entry receiver harness connector.
      BCM Remote keyless entry receiver Continuity
      Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
      M68 18 B20 4 Existed
    3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.
      BCM Ground Continuity
      Connector Terminal
      M68 18 Not existed

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 5  .

    NO 

    Repair or replace harness.

  5. CHECK BCM SIGNAL 2

    1. Reconnect BCM connector.
    2. Check voltage between remote keyless entry receiver harness connector and ground.

      Remote keyless entry receiver
      Connector Terminal
      B20 3 Ground 5

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 7  .

    NO 

    GO TO STEP 6  .

  6. CHECK REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY RECEIVER CIRCUIT

    1. Disconnect BCM connector.
    2. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and remote keyless entry receiver harness connector.

      M71 71 B20 3 Existed
    3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.
      BCM Ground Continuity
      Connector Terminal
      M71 71 Not existed

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    Replace BCM. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NO 

    Repair or replace harness.

  7. CHECK REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY RECEIVER SIGNAL

    1. Reconnect remote keyless entry receiver connector.
    2. Check signal between remote keyless entry receiver harness connector and ground using oscilloscope.

      Press the Intelligent Key lock or unlock button

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 8  .

    NO 

    Replace remote keyless entry receiver.

  8. CHECK BCM SIGNAL 3

    1. Disconnect remote keyless entry receiver connector.
    2. Check voltage between remote keyless entry receiver harness connector and ground.
      (+) (-) Voltage (V)
      (Approx.)
      Remote keyless entry receiver
      Connector Terminal
      B20 2 Ground 5

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 10  .

    NO 

    GO TO STEP 9  .

  9. CHECK REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY RECEIVER RSSI CIRCUIT

    1. Disconnect BCM connector.
    2. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and remote keyless entry receiver harness connector.
      BCM Remote keyless entry receiver Continuity
      Connector Terminal Connector Terminal
      M68 22 B20 2 Existed
    3. Check continuity between BCM harness connector and ground.
      BCM Ground Continuity
      Connector Terminal
      M68 22 Not existed

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    Replace BCM. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    NO 

    Repair or replace harness.

  10. CHECK REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY RECEIVER RSSI OUTPUT SIGNAL

    1. Reconnect remote keyless entry receiver connector.
    2. Check signal between remote keyless entry receiver harness connector and ground using oscilloscope.

    Is the inspection result normal?

    YES 

    GO TO STEP 11  .

    NO 

    Replace remote keyless entry receiver.

  11. CHECK INTERMITTENT INCIDENT

    Refer to INTERMITTENT INCIDENT .
