Diagnostic Test

CHECK CONNECTOR
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal.
3. Check the following terminals and connectors for damage, bend and loose connection (unit side and connector side).
  - Sonar control unit
  - CAN gateway (Models with around view monitor and without ICC system)
Is the inspection result normal?

YES - 1

Models with around view monitor and without ICC system: GO TO STEP 2 .

YES - 2

Models with ICC system: GO TO STEP 3 .

NO

Repair the terminal and connector.

CHECK HARNESS CONTINUITY (OPEN CIRCUIT)

Disconnect the connector of CAN gateway.

Check the continuity between the CAN gateway harness connector terminals.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

GO TO STEP 3 .

Check the harness and repair the root cause (CAN communication circuit 2 side).

CHECK HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT

Connect the connector of CAN gateway. (Models with around view monitor and without ICC system)
Disconnect the connector of sonar control unit.

Check the resistance between the sonar control unit harness connector terminals.

Is the measurement value within the specification?

YES

GO TO STEP 4 .

Replace the main harness.

CHECK POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT

Check the power supply and the ground circuit of the sonar control unit. Refer to the following.
- BOSE audio with navigation system without surround sound system: DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
- BOSE audio with navigation system with surround sound system: DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
Is the inspection result normal?

YES (Present error)

Replace the sonar control unit. Refer to the following.
- BOSE audio with navigation system without surround sound system: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
- BOSE audio with navigation system with surround sound system: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
YES (Past error)

Error was detected in the sonar control unit branch line.

NO

Repair the power supply and the ground circuit.
