Diagnostic Test

- CHECK CONNECTOR
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal.
- Check the terminals and connectors of the power steering control module for damage, bend and loose connection (unit side and connector side).
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO STEP 2 .
NO
Repair the terminal and connector.
- CHECK HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
- Disconnect the connector of power steering control module.
- Check the resistance between the power steering control module harness connector terminals.
Power steering control module harness connector Resistance (Ω) Connector No. Terminal No. E62 8 7 Approx. 54 - 66
Is the measurement value within the specification?
YES
GO TO STEP 3 .
NO
Repair the power steering control module branch line.
- CHECK POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT
Check the power supply and the ground circuit of the power steering control module. Refer to DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE .
Is the inspection result normal?
YES (Present error)
Replace the power steering oil pump assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
YES (Past error)
Error was detected in the power steering control module branch line.
NO
Repair the power supply and the ground circuit.
