Diagnostic Test

- CHECK INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR POWER SUPPLY
- Disconnect mass air flow sensor (with intake air temperature sensor) harness connector.
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Check the voltage between mass air flow sensor harness connector and ground.
MAF sensor Ground Voltage Connector Terminal F74 4 Ground Approx. 5 V
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO STEP 2 .
NO
Repair open circuit, short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
- CHECK INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN AND SHORT
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect ECM harness connector.
- Check harness continuity between mass air flow sensor harness connector and ECM harness connector.
MAF sensor ECM Continuity Connector Terminal Connector Terminal F74 2 F78 40 Existed - Also check harness for short to ground and short to power.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
GO TO STEP 3 .
NO
Repair open circuit, short to ground or short to power in harness or connectors.
- CHECK INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Check intake air temperature sensor. Refer to COMPONENT INSPECTION .
Is the inspection result normal?
YES
Check intermittent incident. Refer to INTERMITTENT INCIDENT .
NO
Replace mass air flow sensor. Refer to EXPLODED VIEW .
