Diagnosis Procedure

Regarding Wiring Diagram information, refer to WIRING DIAGRAM .

MONROVIA MOTOR ASSEMBLY

1. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
   
   
   1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
   2. Disconnect the Monrovia motor assembly connector.
   3. Turn ignition switch ON.
   4. Check voltage between Monrovia motor assembly connector and ground.

   Is the measurement value within the specification?

   YES 

   GO TO STEP 2  .

   NO 

   GO TO STEP 3. 

2. CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT
   
   
   1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
   2. Check continuity between Monrovia motor assembly connector and ground.

      Monrovia motor assembly connector	Terminal	Ground	Continuity
      R4	10		Yes

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES 

   GO TO STEP 5. 

   NO 

   Repair or replace harness.

3. CHECK MONROVIA MOTOR CIRCUIT
   
   
   1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
   2. Disconnect the BCM connector.
   3. Check continuity between BCM connector and Monrovia motor assembly connector.

   4. Check continuity between BCM connector and ground.

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES 

   GO TO STEP 4  .

   NO 

   Repair or replace harness.

4. CHECK BCM OUTPUT SIGNAL
   
   
   1. Connect the BCM connector.
   2. Turn ignition switch ON.
   3. Check voltage between BCM connector and ground.

   Is the measurement value within the specification?

   YES 

   Check condition of harness and connector.

   NO 

   Replace BCM. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

5. CHECK MONROVIA SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL
   
   
   1. Connect Monrovia motor assembly.
   2. Turn ignition switch ON.
   3. Check voltage between the Monrovia motor assembly connector and ground.

   Is the measurement value within the specification?

   YES 

   GO TO STEP 8  .

   NO 

   GO TO STEP 6. 

6. CHECK MONROVIA SWITCH CIRCUIT
   
   
   1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
   2. Disconnect the Monrovia motor assembly and Monrovia switch.
   3. Check continuity between the Monrovia motor assembly connector and Monrovia switch connector.

   4. Check continuity between the Monrovia motor assembly connector and ground.

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES 

   GO TO STEP 7  .

   NO 

   Repair or replace harness.

7. CHECK MONROVIA SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT
   
   
   1. Connect Monrovia motor assembly.
   2. Check continuity between the Monrovia switch connector and ground.

   R108	1		Yes

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES 

   Refer to COMPONENT INSPECTION .

   NO 

   Repair or replace harness.

8. CHECK COMBINATION METER SIGNAL
   
   
   1. Connect the Monrovia motor assembly connector.
   2. Turn ignition switch ON.
   3. Check the signal between the Monrovia motor assembly connector and ground with oscilloscope.

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES 

   Replace Monrovia motor assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION . After that, refer to SPECIAL REPAIR REQUIREMENT .

   NO 

   GO TO STEP 9. 

9. CHECK COMBINATION METER CIRCUIT
   
   
   1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
   2. Disconnect combination meter.
   3. Check continuity between the combination meter connector and the Monrovia motor assembly connector.

      M24	33	R4	8	Yes

   4. Check continuity between the combination meter connector and ground.

   Is the inspection result normal?

   YES 

   Replace combination meter. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

   NO 

   Repair or replace harness.
