Removal And Installation: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Infiniti QX60. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. If the terminal cord assembly is being replaced, install the terminal cord assembly with the following procedure.
    1. Install the terminal cord assembly (1) to the transaxle case.

      CAUTION:
      • Do not reuse terminal cord assembly
      • Connect the CVT unit connector with the stopper facing up, and then press in until it clicks.
    2. Install the snap ring (1) to the CVT unit harness connector (A).

    3. Connect the CVT unit harness connector.
    4. Install the front fender protector side cover (LH).
  2. Install the lip seal (1) to the transaxle case.

    CAUTION:
    • Do not reuse lip seal.
    • Apply petroleum jelly to lip seal.

  3. Install the control valve to the transaxle case.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not pinch the harness between the control valve and the transaxle case.
    • Do not drop the control valve or manual valve.
  4. Secure the control valve using the control valve bolts (A) and (B).

  5. Connect the control valve harness connector (A).

    CAUTION:
    • Do not pinch the harness between the control valve and the transaxle case.
    • Securely insert the harness connector until it clicks and locks.
  6. Install the CVT fluid temperature sensor bracket (1).

  7. Install the bracket (1).

  8. Install the O-ring to the oil strainer assembly.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not reuse O-ring.
    • Apply CVT fluid to O-ring.
  9. Install the oil strainer assembly (1) using the oil strainer assembly bolts (A) and (B).

    NOTE:

    Remove the bracket and adjust the position again if the bolt hole positions are not aligned.

  10. Install the manual plate (1) while aligning the ends as shown in illustration.

    • Align the slot of the manual plate with the manual shaft (A).
    • Align the end of the manual plate with the cutout of the manual valve.
    CAUTION:

    Install the end of the manual plate into the cutout of the manual valve.

  11. Install the spring washer (2) and the lock-nut (3), and then tighten to the specified torque.
  12. Install the magnets while aligning it with the convex side of oil pan.
    CAUTION:

    Completely clean the iron powder from the magnet area of oil pan and the magnet.

  13. Install the oil pan to the transaxle case with the following procedure.
    1. Install the oil pan gasket to the oil pan.
      CAUTION:
      • Completely wipe out any moisture, oil, and old gasket from the oil pan gasket surface and bolt holes of oil pan and transaxle case.
      • Do not reuse oil pan gasket.
    2. Install the oil pan assembly to the transaxle case, and then temporarily tighten the oil pan bolts.
    3. Tighten the oil pan bolts in the order shown in illustration to the specified torque.

    4. Tighten the oil pan bolts again clockwise from (1) shown in illustration to the specified torque.
  14. Install the drain plug gasket to the drain plug.
    CAUTION:

    Do not reuse drain plug gasket.

  15. Install the drain plug to the oil pan.
  16. Install the new QR code sticker to the transmission range switch.
  17. Connect battery negative terminal. Refer to EXPLODED VIEW .
  18. Fill the transaxle assembly with CVT fluid. Refer to REPLACEMENT .
