Headlamp High Beam Does Not Illuminate (Both Sides)

CHECK COMBINATION SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL
With CONSULT-II

Select "BCM" on CONSULT-II. With "HEAD LAMP" data monitor, make sure "HI BEAM SW" turns ON-OFF linked with operation of lighting switch.

When lighting switch is: HI BEAM SW ON HIGH position

Without CONSULT-II

Refer to "COMBINATION SWITCH INSPECTION ".

OK or NG
1. OK: GO TO 2.
2. NG: Check combination switch (lighting switch). Refer to "COMBINATION SWITCH INSPECTION ".

HEADLAMP ACTIVE TEST
With CONSULT-II
1. Select "IPDM E/R" on CONSULT-I, and select "ACTIVE TEST" on "SELECT DIAG MODE" screen.
2. Select "LAMPS" on "SELECT TEST ITEM" screen.
3. Touch "HI" screen.
4. Make sure headlamp high beam operates.
  Headlamp high beam should operate.
  
  (Headlamp high beam repeats ON-OFF every 1 second).
Without CONSULT-II
1. Start auto active test. Refer to "AUTO ACTIVE TEST ".
2. Make sure headlamp high beam operates.
  Headlamp high beam should operate.

OK or NG
1. OK: GO TO 3.
2. NG: GO TO 4 .
CHECK IPDM E/R
1. Select "IPDM E/R" on CONSULT-II, and select "DATA MONITOR" on "SELECT DIAG MODE" screen.
2. Make sure "HL LO REQ" and "HL HI REQ" turns ON when lighting switch is in HI position.
  When lighting switch is: HL LO REQ ON
  
  HIGH position: HL HI REQ ON
OK or NG
1. OK: Replace IPDM E/R.
2. NG: Replace BCM. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF BCM ".

With CONSULT-II
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect front combination lamp RH and LH connector.
3. Select "IPDM E/R" on CONSULT-II, and select "ACTIVE TEST" on "SELECT DIAG MODE" screen.
4. Select "LAMPS" on "SELECT TEST ITEM" screen.
5. Touch "HI" screen.
6. When headlamp high beam is operating, check voltage between front combination lamp RH and LH harness connector and ground.

Without CONSULT-II
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect front combination lamp RH and LH connector.
3. Start auto active test. Refer to "AUTO ACTIVE TEST ".
4. When headlamp high beam is operating, check voltage between front combination lamp RH and LH harness connector and ground.

OK or NG
1. OK: GO TO 6 .
2. NG: GO TO 5.
CHECK HEADLAMP CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect IPDM E/R connector.
3. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector E7 terminal 27 (BR) and front combination lamp RH harness connector E24 terminal 2 (BR).
  27 (BR) - 2 (BR): Continuity should exist.
4. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector E7 terminal 28 (R/Y) and front combination lamp LH harness connector E41 terminal 2 (R/Y).
  28 (R/Y) - 2 (R/Y): Continuity should exist.

OK or NG
1. OK: Replace IPDM E/R.
2. NG: Repair harness or connector.
CHECK HEADLAMP GROUND
1. Check continuity between front combination lamp RH harness connector E24 terminal 8 (B) and ground.
  8 (B) - Ground: Continuity should exist.
2. Check continuity between front combination lamp LH harness connector E41 terminal 8 (B) and ground.
  8 (B) - Ground: Continuity should exist.

OK or NG
1. OK: Check headlamp bulb.
2. NG: Repair harness or connector.
