Headlamp Low Beam Does Not Illuminate (Both Sides)

CHECK COMBINATION SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL
With CONSULT-II

Select "BCM" on CONSULT-II. With "HEAD LAMP" data monitor, make sure "HEAD LAMP SW 1" and "HEAD LAMP SW 2" turns ON-OFF linked with operation of lighting switch.
1. When lighting switch is 2ND position: HEAD LAMP SW 1 ON: HEAD LAMP SW 2 ON
With out CONSULT-II

Refer to COMBINATION SWITCH INSPECTION .

OK or NG
1. OK: GO TO 2.
2. NG: Check lighting switch. Refer to COMBINATION SWITCH INSPECTION .

HEADLAMP ACTIVE TEST
With CONSULT-II
1. Select "IPDM E/R" on CONSULT-II. and select "ACTIVE TEST" on "SELECT DIAG MODE" screen.
2. Select "LAMPS" on "SELECT TEST" ITEM screen.
3. Touch "LO" screen.
4. Make sure headlamp low beam operation.
  1. Headlamp low beam should operate.
With out CONSULT-II
1. Start auto active test. Refer to AUTO ACTIVE TEST .
2. Make sure headlamp low beam operation.
  1. Headlamp low beam should operate.
OK or NG
1. OK: GO TO 3.
2. NG: GO TO 4

CHECK IPDM E/R
1. Select "IPDM E/R" on CONSULT-II. and select "DATA MONITOR" on "SELECT DIAG MODE" screen.
2. Make sure "HL LO REQ" turns ON when lighting switch is in 2ND position.
  1. When lighting switch is 2ND position: HL LO REQ ON
OK or NG
1. OK: Replace IPDM E/R.
2. NG: Replace BCM. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF BCM .

CHECK HEADLAMP INPUT SIGNAL
With CONSULT-II
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect front combination lamp RH and LH connector.
3. Select "IPDM E/R" on CONSULT-II. and select "ACTIVE TEST" on "SELECT DIAG MODE" screen.
4. Select "LAMPS" on "SELECT TEST ITEM" screen.
5. Touch "LO" screen.
6. When headlamp low beam is operating, check voltage between front combination lamp RH and LH harness connector and ground.

With out CONSULT-II
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect front combination lamp RH and LH connector.
3. Start auto active test. Refer toAUTO ACTIVE TEST .
4. When headlamp low beam is operating, check voltage between front combination lamp RH and LH harness connector and ground.

OK or NG
1. OK: GO TO 6
2. NG: GO TO 5.
CHECK HEADLAMP CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect IPDM E/R connector.
3. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector E7 terminal 20 (R) and front combination lamp RH harness connector E24 terminal 3 (R).
  1. 20 (R) - 3 (R): Continuity should exist.
4. Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector E7 terminal 30 (R/B) and front combination lamp LH harness connector E41 terminal 3 (R/B).
  1. 30 (R/B) - 3 (R/B): Continuity should exist.
OK or NG
1. OK: Replace IPDM E/R.
2. NG: Repair harness or connector.

CHECK HEADLAMP GROUND
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Check continuity between front combination lamp RH harness connector E24 terminal 5 (B) and ground.
  1. 5 (B) - Ground: Continuity should exist.
3. Check continuity between front combination lamp LH harness connector E41 terminal 5 (B) and ground.
  1. 5 (B) - Ground: Continuity should exist.
OK or NG
1. OK: Check headlamp harness and connectors, ballasts (HID control unit), and xenon bulbs. Refer to Xenon Headlamp Trouble Diagnosis .
2. NG: Repair harness or connector.
