After Front Wipers Operate For 10 Seconds, They Stop For 20 Seconds, And After Repeating The Operations Five Times, They Become Inoperative
NOTE:
- When auto-stop signal has not varied for 10 seconds or longer while IPDM E/R is operating front wipers, IPDM E/R considers that front wipers are locked, and stops wiper output. That causes this symptom.
- This status can be checked by "DATA MONITOR" of "IPDM E/R" on which "WIPER PROTECTION" item shows "BLOCK".
- Check Wiper Motor Signal
- With CONSULT-II
Select "IPDM E/R" by CONSULT-II. With "DATA MONITOR", confirm that "WIP AUTO STOP" turns "ACT P" - "STOP P" linked with wiper operation.
- When front wiper stopped : WIP AUTO STOP STOP P
- When front wiper operated : WIP AUTO STOP ACT P
- Without CONSULT-II
GO TO 2 .
OK or NG
- OK: Replace IPDM E/R.
- NG: GO TO 2 .
- With CONSULT-II
- Check Wiper Auto Stop Circuit
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect IPDM E/R connector and front wiper motor connector.
- Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector E7 terminal 32 (L) and front wiper motor harness connector E57 terminal 5 (L).
- 32 (L) - 5 (L) : Continuity should exist.
- Check continuity between IPDM E/R harness connector E7 terminal 32 (L) and ground.
- 32 (L) - Ground : Continuity should not exist.
OK or NG
- OK: GO TO 3 .
- NG: Repair harness or connector.
- Check Front Motor
- Connect IPDM E/R connector and front wiper connector.
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Check voltage between IPDM E/R harness connector E7 terminal 32 (L) and ground while front wiper motor is stopped and while it is operating.
OK or NG
- OK: Replace IPDM E/R.
- NG: GO TO 4 .
- Check IPDM E/R (2)
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect front wiper motor connector.
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Check voltage between front wiper motor connector E57 terminal 5 (L) and ground.
- 5 (L) - Ground : Battery Voltage should exist.
OK or NG
- OK: Replace front wiper motor.
- NG: Replace IPDM E/R.
