Entering Self-Diagnostic Mode

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Change trip odometer to either trip "A" or trip "B". Turn ignition switch to OFF position. While pressing trip odometer reset switch, turn ignition switch to ON position. See FIG inst cluster terminals. Confirm that trip odometer reads 000.0.
  2. Press trip odometer reset switch more than 3 times within 5 seconds. All trip odometer segments should now be illuminated, indicating that diagnostic mode has been entered. See Fig 1 . If any segments are not illuminated, replace combination meter as an assembly. If all segments illuminate, go to next step.
  3. Press trip odometer reset switch. Needle indicators on meters/gauges should display in full counterclockwise position and low fuel warning light should go off. If meters/gauges display as described, no malfunction is indicated. Repair by symptom. See TROUBLE SHOOTING  . If any meter/gauge display is not as described, replace combination meter assembly.
    NOTE: Fuel gauge reading may take up to 60 seconds to stabilize.
