Fuel Gauge Sending Unit
Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect fuel gauge harness connector at fuel tank. Install an 80-ohm resistor between terminals No. 2 (Black wire) and No. 3 (Yellow/Purple wire) on fuel gauge harness connector. Using a DVOM, connect positive lead to sending unit terminal No. 3, and negative lead to terminal No. 2. See Fig 1 . Measure resistance between indicated terminals with fuel gauge sending unit float in specified positions. See FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT TEST table. If resistance is not as specified, replace fuel gauge sending unit.
