Inspection Procedure

HINT:

  1. READ VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR) 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Select the DATA LIST mode on the hand-held tester.

    4. Check that the steering angle sensor value of the steering angle sensor observed in the hand-held tester changes when the steering wheel is moved.

    Standard: 

    1. Steering angle value should change. 
    NOTE: When replacing the Brake Actuator assy, perform zero point calibration (see PRE-CHECK  ).

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY 

  2. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR CONNECTOR) 
    1. Remove the steering wheel and the column lower cover.
    2. Disconnect the steering angle sensor connector S9.

    3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in Fig 3 .

      Standard

    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in Fig 4 .

      Standard

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR
