Entering Self-Diagnostic Mode

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Change trip odometer to either trip "A" or trip "B". Turn ignition switch to OFF position. While pressing trip odometer reset switch, turn ignition switch to ON position. See Figure . Confirm that trip odometer reads 000.0.
  2. Press trip odometer reset switch more than 3 times within 5 seconds. All trip odometer segments should now be illuminated, indicating that diagnostic mode has been entered. See Fig 1 . If any segments are not illuminated, replace combination meter as an assembly. If all segments illuminate, go to next step.
  3. Press trip odometer reset switch and allow one minute for gauges to stabilize. Instruments should display as illustrated. See Fig 2 . If gauges display as illustrated, no malfunction is indicated. Repair by symptom. See TROUBLE SHOOTING  . If any gauge display is not as shown in illustration, replace combination meter assembly.
    NOTE: Fuel gauge reading may take 60 seconds to stabilize.
