Fuel Gauge Warning Indicator Sensor

Remove fuel gauge sending unit from fuel tank. Using a jumper wire, connect terminal No. 6 at fuel gauge sending unit to positive battery terminal. See Figure . Connect a test light between terminal No. 4 at fuel gauge sending unit and negative battery terminal. With float arm resting at bottom of float arm travel, test light should illuminate. While observing test light, slowly lift float arm of fuel gauge sending unit. Test light should go out at about 1/4 point of float arm travel. If test light does not operate as described, replace fuel gauge sending unit.
