Intermittent Time For Front Wipers Cannot Be Adjusted: I30

  1. If using Nissan's CONSULT scan tool, go to next step. If not using scan tool, go to step  4.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Touch START, IVMS, then WIPER on scan tool display. Touch DATA MONITOR on scan tool display. Select INT RESIST on scan tool. When intermittent wiper switch is in short interval position, scan tool should indicate zero ohms. When intermittent wiper switch is in long interval position, scan tool should indicate about 1000 ohms. If resistance is as specified, replace BCM. If resistance is not as specified, go to next step.
  3. Test wiper switch. See STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article. If wiper switch is defective, replace combination switch. If wiper switch is okay, check the following and repair as necessary:
    • Check for open in wiper switch ground circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
    • Check for open and/or shorts between Body Control Module (BCM) and wiper switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  4. Disconnect BCM White 20-pin harness connector M92. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 24 (Purple wire) at BCM harness connector M92. See Figure. When wiper switch is in short interval position, resistance should be zero ohms. When wiper switch is in long interval position, resistance should be about 1000 ohms. If resistance is as specified, replace BCM. If resistance is not as specified, go to step  3.
