Description & Operation
WARNING:
Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
A 2-speed front wiper motor with an intermittent feature is used on all models. Front wiper and washer operations are controlled from wiper/washer switch. Wiper/washer switch is part of the combination switch, located on steering column. On I30 and Q45, intermittent timing for wipers is controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM). On G20 and QX4, intermittent timing for wipers is by the wiper amplifier. QX4 is also equipped with a single speed rear wiper motor with an intermittent feature, and a rear washer pump and reservoir. Rear wiper/washer system controls are located in center of instrument panel.
