Removal & Installation
- Raise and support vehicle. Support rear axle housing on safety stands. Drain differential lubricant. Scribe index mark on drive shaft, and remove drive shaft. See DRIVE SHAFT. Plug rear of transmission or transfer case. Remove rear axle shafts. See AXLE SHAFTS & BEARINGS .
- Disconnect ABS sensor harness connector(s). Remove bolts securing differential carrier to axle housing. Remove differential carrier. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure gasket on H233B is installed with Gray side toward axle case and Green side toward differential carrier.
