Removal & Installation (Q45)

Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove steering wheel. Remove lower instrument panel finishers. Remove steering column cover and combination switch. See Fig 1 .
Remove driver-side lower instrument panel. Remove lower instrument panel reinforcement. Remove cluster lids and steering lock shield. Remove instrument cluster retaining screws. Pull instrument cluster back enough to disconnect harness connectors. Disconnect harness connectors and remove instrument cluster. To install, reverse removal procedure.
