Fuel Gauge Warning Indicator Sensor: Q45

Remove fuel gauge sending unit from fuel tank. Using a jumper wire, connect terminal No. 6 at fuel gauge sending unit to positive battery terminal. See Figure . Connect a test light between terminal No. 4 at fuel gauge sending unit and negative battery terminal. When sensor on bottom of fuel tank sending unit is submerged in gasoline, test light should not illuminate. When sensor on bottom of fuel tank sending unit is not submerged in gasoline, test light should illuminate. If test light does not operate as described, replace fuel gauge sending unit.
