Removal & Installation (J30)
- Raise and support vehicle. Remove exhaust pipe. Disconnect drive shaft at differential. See Figure. Disconnect parking brake cables. Remove brake calipers, leaving hoses attached. Suspend calipers with wire away from work area, taking care not to bend or twist hoses.
- Remove upper shock absorber nuts. DO NOT remove piston rod lock nut. Remove suspension member nuts. Remove rear axle and suspension system. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten nuts/bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
