Removal & Installation (Q45)
- Remove rear suspension member. See REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER . Remove strut assembly upper and lower attaching nuts. See Figure. Mark strut assembly for reassembly reference. Clamp strut assembly in vise with Strut Attachment (ST35652000).
- Loosen, but DO NOT remove, piston rod lock. Compress spring with Spring Compressor (HT71780000) until strut mounting insulator can be turned by hand. Remove piston rod lock nut. Remove spring and spring compressor.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten nuts/bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . When installing coil spring, align marks made during disassembly.
