The instrument cluster consists of following major components: speedometer, tachometer, gauges and warning indicators. All models use a permanent magnet, generator-type vehicle speed sensor located on the rear transmission extension. Instrument cluster can be removed with gauges installed.
Instrument cluster converts input signals received from the thermal transmitter, fuel gauge sending unit and vehicle speed sensor to control operation of coolant temperature gauge, fuel gauge and speedometer, respectively. Operation of the tachometer is based on input signal received from the Electronic Control Module (ECM).
