Temperature Gauge
- To check power source, turn ignition on. Check voltage between instrument cluster connector terminal No. 23 and ground. See Figure . If battery voltage is present, go to step 3).
- If battery voltage is not present, check for blown fuse or fusible link. Check power circuit between battery terminal and instrument cluster. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS . Check ignition switch and relay.
- Turn ignition on. Connect a jumper wire between temperature gauge terminal "C" and ground. If gauge needle does not move smoothly from COLD to HOT, replace temperature gauge. If needle moves smoothly from COLD to HOT, check wire continuity between instrument cluster connector terminal No. 5 and ground. See Figure .
- If continuity is not present, repair or replace wire harness between instrument cluster and temperature gauge sending unit. If continuity exists, test temperature gauge sending unit. See TEMPERATURE GAUGE SENDING UNIT under TESTING.
