Early Models (With Last 6 Digits Of VIN Less Than 450021)

1. Disconnect speedometer cable from instrument cluster, and remove instrument cluster. Insert a small screwdriver into speedometer cable hole behind speedometer.
2. While slowly rotating sensor using screwdriver, use an ohmmeter to check continuity between instrument cluster connector terminals No. 14 and 15. See Fig 1 . Continuity should exist twice for each revolution. If continuity is not as specified, replace sensor as necessary.
