Cylinder Head
CAUTION:
Valve clearance adjustment must be performed when cylinder head, valve or valve seats are replaced. See VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT
under ADJUSTMENTS.
- Inspect cylinder head warpage at cylinder block area. Replace or resurface cylinder head if warpage exceeds specification. Ensure cylinder head height is within specification after machining. See CYLINDER HEAD
table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.CAUTION: DO NOT machine more than .008" (.20 mm) total from cylinder head and cylinder block deck surface.
- Ensure lash adjuster bore diameter in cylinder head and lash adjuster oil clearance are within specification. See LASH ADJUSTER table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
