Component Inspection

  1. Turn "OFF" the ignition switch.
  2. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  3. Turn "ON" the ignition switch.
  4. Using a GDS, Clear DTC.
  5. Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)" mode again.
  6. Are any DTCs present?

    YES 

    • If DTC returns even after the tests, replace it with a new MDPS and see if it properly operates. If the problem is cleared, put the new MDPS in place and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • Fault can be intermittent caused by poor connection in CAN signal harness and/or ESP (ESC)'s connector. Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
