CAN Bus line Open/Short Inspection

Item Normal Value Prerequisite Condition Probe (+) Probe (-)
CAN Bus line (Short): Resistance infinity
  1. Ignition switch: OFF
  2. Disconnect all ECU connected to the CAN bus (PCM, Cluster, etc.).
 DLC CAN High terminal Chassis ground
DLC CAN Low terminal Chassis ground
CAN Bus line (Short): Voltage 0.0 ~ 0.1 V
  1. Ignition switch: OFF
  2. Disconnect all ECU connected to the CAN bus (PCM, Cluster, etc.).
  3. Ignition switch: ON
 DLC CAN High terminal Chassis ground
DLC CAN Low terminal Chassis ground
CAN Bus line (Open): Resistance Below 1.0Ω
  1. Ignition switch: OFF
  2. Disconnect all ECU connected to the CAN bus.
 DLC CAN High terminal Each module CAN High terminal
DLC CAN Low terminal Each module CAN High terminal
  1. Is the result within specifications?

    YES 

    • Go to next procedure.

    NO
