C-CAN Communication Line Inspection

CAN communication line (open, short): voltage Approx. below 5V
  1. Ignition switch: ON
DLC C-CAN High terminal Chassis ground
DLC C-CAN Low terminal Chassis ground
Open in CAN communication line: resistance Approx. below 1Ω
  1. Ignition switch: OFF
  2. FCA, MDPS Connector: Disconnected
FCA CAN High terminal MDPS CAN High terminal
FCA CAN Low terminal MDPS CAN Low terminal

* DLC: Data Link Connector

  1. Is the result within specifications?

    YES 

    • This can be an intermittent fault caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or control module's connector. Or, control module's memory was not cleared after repair. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, ending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
    • Repair or replace the relevant component(s) as necessary, and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR ".
