Repair Procedures: Replacement
NOTE:
- When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
- Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
CAUTION:
- Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove interior trim pieces without marring the surface.
- Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the front pillar trim.

- Remove the floor console assembly.
(Refer to Floor Console - "FLOOR CONSOLE ASSEMBLY ")
- Remove the cluster fascia panel.
(Refer to Crash Pad - "CLUSTER FASCIA PANEL ")
- Remove the head up display unit.
(Refer to Body Electrical System - "HEAD UP DISPLAY UNIT ")
- Remove the rear center fascia panel.
(Refer to Crash Pad - "CENTER FASCIA PANEL ")
- Remove the audio and AVN head unit.
(Refer to Body Electrical System - "AUDIO UNIT ")
- Remove the crash pad garnish.
(Refer to Crash Pad - "CRASH PAD GARNISH ")
- Remove the crash pad center panel.
(Refer to Crash Pad - "CRASH PAD CENTER PANEL ")
- Remove the steering wheel.
(Refer to Steering System - "STEERING WHEEL ")
- Remove the steering column shroud lower panel.
(Refer to Crash Pad - "STEERING COLUMN SHROUD PANEL ")
- Remove the multifunction switch assembly.
(Refer to Body Electrical System - "MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH ")
- Using a flat-tip screwdriver or remover and remove the center speaker grill (A).
- Press the lock pin and separate the photo sensor connector (A) and security sensor connector (B).
- Remove the cluster speaker and center speaker.
(Refer to Body Electrical System - "SPEAKER ")
- Loosen the mounting screws and remove the crash pad side switch assembly (A).
- Press the lock pin and separate the switch assembly connector (A).
- Loosen the airbag mounting bolts (A).
- Loosen the mounting bolts, nuts and remove the main crash pad assembly (A).
- Press the lock pin and separate the passenger airbag module connector (A).
- To install, reverse removal procedure.CAUTION:
- Make sure the crash pad fits onto the guide pins correctly.
- Before tightening the bolts, make sure the crash pad wire harnesses are not pinched.
- Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the antenna lead is connected properly.
- Make sure that each of the assembly components operates properly.
- Replace any damaged clips (or pin-typ retainers).
