CAN Communication Circuit Inspection
- Replace all unit/module connector.
- Ignition ON.
- Measure the voltage between P-CAN-HIGH terminal of HPCU harness connector and chassis ground.
- Measure the voltage between P-CAN-LOW terminal of HPCU harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification: Under dir 5V (1.5V ~ 3.5V)
- Is the measured voltage within specification?
YES
- Check the "HPCU" P-CAN communication circuit terminal and the wire for corrosion, contamination, deformation, damage, and short to battery.
→ Repair or replace as necessary and carry out the "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- If the measured voltage is the battery voltage level (approximately 12V), check for short between the relevant wire and the battery power.
- If the measured voltage is the ground level (approximately 0V).
→ Check for short between the "P-CAN High" line and the "P-CAN Low" line.
→ Check the relevant wire for open and poor connection.
→ Check for short between the relevant wire and the body ground.
CAUTION: If the CAN communication status is in "slip mode", the ground level (approximately 0V) for the high line and the battery voltage level for the low line will be detected. Make sure to check if it is in "wake up" status. - Check the "HPCU" P-CAN communication circuit terminal and the wire for corrosion, contamination, deformation, damage, and short to battery.
