Check Stop Lamp Switch
- Ignition "OFF"
- Disconnect Stop Lamp Switch harness connector.
- Measure resistance between Power and Signal NO terminals of Stop Lamp Switch. (Component Side)
- Measure resistance between Power and Signal NC terminals of Stop Lamp Switch. (Component Side)
Specification:
Measure 1: Infinity
Measure 2: below 1Ω.
- Is the measured resistance within specifications?
YES
- Check for poor connection between Stop Lamp Switch and component: backed out terminal, improper mating, broken locks or poor terminal to wire connection. Repair as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Substitute with a known-good Stop Lamp Switch and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Stop Lamp Switch and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
- Substitute with a known-good Stop Lamp Relay and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace Stop Lamp Relay and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
