Check for Open and Short in CAN Communication Line

  1. Turn "OFF" the ignition switch.
  2. Measure the resistance between C-CAN High/Low terminal of IGPM harness connector and chassis ground. (M1)
  3. Turn "ON" the ignition switch.
  4. Measure the voltage between C-CAN High/Low terminal of IGPM harness connector and chassis ground. (M2)
  5. Disconnect the EPB Control Module and IGPM (Gateway) connectors.
  6. Measure the resistance between C-CAN High terminal of EPB Module harness connector and C-CAN High terminal of IGPM. (M3)
  7. Measure the resistance between C-CAN Low terminal of EPB Module harness connector and C-CAN Low terminal of IGPM. (M4)

    Specification  : (M1): Infinity Ω, (M2): Below 2.5V, (M3, M4): Below 1Ω

  8. Is the measured value within specification?

    YES 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or Control module's connector or was repaired and Control module's memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
    • Repair or replace as necessary, and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
    • Perform actuation by GDS and check whether it is operating correctly.
