Component Inspection

  1. Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Engine "ON" and Head lamp "ON".
  3. Clear the DTC.
  4. Ignition "OFF".
  5. Engine "ON" and Head lamp "ON".
  6. Connect GDS and select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)"  mode and Read "DTC Status" parameter.
  7. Is the DTC B162248 present?

    YES 

    • Substitute with a known - good AFLS ECU and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace AFLS ECU and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.

    NO 

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or AFLS ECU's connector or was repaired and AFLS ECU memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
