  2. Engine "ON" and Head lamp "ON"
  3. Turn the steering wheel to the left or right.
  4. Monitor the "Steering Wheel Angle" parameters on the GDS.

(Check the data of steering angle sensor, EPS system and confirm output values related to CAN communication.)

  5. Steering angle sensor signal is changed according to steering wheel?

    YES

    • Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or ECU's connector or was repaired and ECU memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO

    • Faulty in sensor related to CAN communication (Steering Angle Sensor, EPS).
    • Faulty in steering sensor signal (included in (Steering Angle Sensor, EPS) system that use steering angle sensor).

Substitute with a known - good steering angle sensor and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace steering angle sensor and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    • Faulty in only AFLS ECU signal
