Check Short to Ground in CAN Communication Line

  1. Turn off the Ignition switch.
  2. Measure resistance between Local CAN High, Local CAN low terminal of AEB(SCC) Module harness connector and chassis ground (measurement 1).
  3. Turn on the ignition switch.
  4. Measure voltage between Local CAN High, Local CAN low terminal of AEB(SCC) Module harness connector and chassis ground (measurement 2).
  5. Disconnect the AEB(SCC) Module connector and LDWS connector.
  6. Measure resistance between Local CAN High terminal of AEB(SCC) Module harness connector and Local CAN High terminal of LDWS (measurement 3).
  7. Measure resistance between Local CAN Low terminal of AEB(SCC) Module harness connector and Local CAN Low terminal of LDWS (measurement 4).

    Specification  : measurement 1) Infinity Ω, measurement 2) Below 5V, measurement 3, 4) Below 1Ω

  8. Is the measured value within specification?

    YES 

    • Check Engine ECM, AEB(SCC) Module connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary, and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
