The OCS (Occupant Classification System) monitors a front passenger seat for occupancy by means of a pressure sensitive matrix.

The SRSCM rcognizes the signal as 2 (two) different classifications; that is, 0 (Empty/Child), 1 (Seat Occuupied) With these signal, SRSCM determines whether it needs to deploy the PAB (Passenger Airbag) or not.

The OC system monitors a front passenger seat for occupancy by means of a pressure sensitive matrix sensor, but the BodySense system detects seat occupancy and classifies the occupant by using an electricalfield sensor. Unlike the pressure sensitive matrix sensor, the electrical field sensor is very sensitive tomoisture and electronic devices and therefore please give customers advice not to put any electronicdevices on or around the passenger seat cushions and also spill water or beverage on the seat cushions.
