- A failure is detected when ESP (ESC) detects that the C-CAN bus "OFF" has occurred for more than 140 milliseconds during control or for more than 700 milliseconds during non-control.
- Vehicle speed is less than 6 km/h (3.72 MPH), and not controlled: Warning lamp is on. DTC is not recorded.
- Vehicle speed is greater than 6 km/h or controlling: Warning lamp is on. DTC is recorded.
