DTC Information And Inspection: DTC Detecting Condition

Trouble shooting Condition Possible cause
Main action
  • Monitor the brake switch signal
  1. Short to power in brake switch
  2. Open or short to ground in brake switch
  3. Defected brake switch
  4. Defected ESP (ESC)/
  5. Faulty of Master cylinder pressure
  6. Faulty of brake switch installation
  7. Brake switch power supply failure
Threshold value
  • When brake pedal pressure is more than 15 bars and brake lamp switch is "OFF" for more than 3 seconds
  • In case of vehicle speed is over 20 km/h (12.42 MPH) and brake pedal pressure is less than 7 bars, if brake lamp switch is "ON" state for more than 360 seconds or more than 120 seconds cumulative three times or more.
MIL
  • ESP (ESC) warning lamp is activated

    EBD/ABS/EPB warning lamps are not activated

Reset condition
  • After ignition switch turned OFF and ON,
    • when brake lamp switch is "OFF", pressure sensor value is below 7 bar for more than 1 second.
    • when brake lamp switch is "ON", pressure sensor value is over 15 bar for more than 1 second.
